THE PROSPECT OF ENSURING THE CONTINUED FUNCTIONING OF THE HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM DURING THE PANDEMIC

The coronavirus (Covid-19), along with the deterioration of human health, has spread equally to the economy as well as other vital areas, negatively affecting the education system of countries, its continuity and obtainment of quality education.Studies conducted at various higher education institutions around the world, including Sokhumi State University, have revealed that the global pandemic has radically changed the mood of students and severely limited opportunities for continuous quality education. Consensus suggests that despite the inevitability of using the distance learning / teaching format in the current situation created by the rage of the coronavirus, there is no alternative to the traditional university-auditory practice of education.The presented paper reflects the analysis of the possibilities of implementing dis-tance teaching format for the continuous functioning of the higher education system, evaluating the results obtained and understanding the prospects of improvement.
