Abstract

Grains include wheat, rye, oats, barley, and corn. These grains do not exist in the wild. They are thought to have originated from 10-15 different species of plants, most of which are now extinct. Atlantologists suggest that humans must have domesticated these crops long before the flood on the mythical "Atlantis." In Kvemo Kartli, at the Arukhlo archaeological site, remains of cultivated wheat from the sixth millennium BC were found - the initial varieties of cultivated wheat - emmer, makha and ancient Colchian wheat, single-grain and double-grain wheat, spelt, gymnosperms: soft wheat, dwarf wheat, barley, millet, emmer, oats and weeds accompanying cultivated plants and rye.
