Agricultural land reform in Georgia started in 1992. In particular, on the basis of the resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Georgia N48 of January 18, 1992, N128 of February 6, 1992, and March 10, 1992, and non-agricultural lands - since 1998, when the new Civil Code of Georgia was adopted in 1997 (entered into force on January 1, 1998). . Also, in October 1998, the following laws were adopted: 1. "On the management and disposal of state-owned non-agricultural abandoned land" (repealed on July 11, 2007), 2. "On non-agricultural abandoned land in the use of individuals and legal entities of private law" on declaration as private property" (cancelled on September 20, 2007).
