FINANCIAL-ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL-ECONOMIC DETERMINANTS OF GAMBLING BUSINESS

The article presents the first attempt in Georgian scientific sphere that considers social, economic and financial aspects of gambling business functioning. It is well known without any exaggeration that gambling is one of the most actual and delicate issues all over the world. Georgia is not exception in this regard. Based on analyzing gam-bling business peculiarities and studying some foreign best practices of the specific business subsector, the author discusses the positive and negative impacts of gambling on the state, business and society. The work also contains some relevant recommendations, which, as the author suggests, will help policy implementation at state, regional and local governmental levels respectively.
