Abstract

The Georgian Stock Exchange was established in 1999. The basis for its creation was the law on the securities market developed with the help of American experts on December 24, 1998. The stock exchange is an important link of the securities market, without it it is impossible to operate the mentioned area, and therefore it was established as a joint stock company on January 5, 1999 with the help of USAID. On January 14, 2000, it was issued stock license #90001 by the National Securities Commission of Georgia, on March 23, 2000, the first trade was conducted, the first deal was concluded in April, 2000. Since then, the stock market has started to operate actively.
