Abstract

Since the end of 1994, the political and economic situation in Georgia has been stabilizing. In the fall of 1995, the GEL was introduced, and the GDP growth rate was 3% in 1995, and 10-11% in 1996-97. In 1995, the Law “On Entrepreneurs” was adopted, which made it possible to create commercial companies and their further activities. In 1997, the Civil Code came into force. In 1996, the mass privatization process began, and state-owned enterprises were transferred to private owners. Along with enterprises in various fields, 23 out of 30 enterprises in the “Sakenergo” system were also privatized. In the spring of 1996, the second stage of privatization began.
