Abstract

A front-page article in the New York Times recently at- tracted the attention of lawyers and businesses because of the unusual story that it told.1 The article reported that an ultra-wealthy hedge fund operator had engaged in transactions and activities which amounted to a billion dollar bet that he could ruin another company (Herbalife) and make money from doing so.
