Abstract

“The Georgian world was conditioned and protected by the Orthodox faith. Orthodoxy is our historical choice,” we read in the 2007 Easter Epistle of the Patriarch of Georgia.
To what extent is the current Georgian state a faithful follower of this historical choice?
What is the spiritual state of the nation today?
How humane is the relationship between the state and religion?
To get answers to these questions, we visited representatives of various spheres of our society: Doctor of Philosophy, writer and playwright Mr. Mamuka Dolidze; doctor, specialist in Oriental medicine Mr. Giorgi Gambashidze; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Ms. Tinatin Tushmalishvili; and the rector of the Holy Trinity Cathedral, priest Mikael Gvaramadze.
