In Georgia, there is a multiparty system and it is governed by a dominant party. In general, in each country, special relationships are formed between the parties. In order to specify the character of these relationships, the term "Party system" has been introduced in political science. The party system is a complex network of interdependence and interrelationships, which is formed between the parties, as well as between other political institutions and parties of the state and government.
The above mentioned relationships in total clearly point us to the large-scale influence of the party in the political life of the country.
Dominance of one party in a multi-party political system is characteristic for several states, like them, in Georgia the winning parties in the elections usually win with a significant priorities and get with a large majority in the Parliament, which excludes the necessity of cooperation with other parties. In such a situation, political players do not observe the significance of mutual needs, then, in this case there is no need to talk about the cooperation of the authorities and opposition parties.
In Georgia, this process between political forces is developing on the background of extreme confrontation and mass mobilization of society, when all the government power is transferred to the hands of the winners. It is possible that such a political process will develop in a similar direction in the future, but it is also possible that the tradition will be broken and a new precedent will be created in Georgia, a precedent for establishing a strong, stable, dominant party system or a sequentially developing multi-party system can be established. Not any other scenarios be excluded, which essentially depend on the main political processes and their mutual cooperation.
Despite certain negative features and characteristic of the one-party system, the monopoly rights of such system are clearly revealed in the formation of state government bodies. Also, during the rule of one party, the state and party apparatus merge with each other, which hinders the possibilities of competition, progress, and the opportunities of searching for new things in political life. But excessive idealization of the multi-party system will not bring benefits either, it also has its weaknesses and shortcomings. This event is also noted by foreign politicians as a result of long observation and analysis. However, currently, the hopes and perspectives of democratization of the society today, in many cases, are connected to the establishment of multi-party system of governing the state.
