Abstract

The article discusses the global situation during the COVID-19 virus pandemic, identifying the damage it has done to the economies of the world's leading countries, and analysing key issues in strategic health management in various countries, such as the USA, Germany, etc. Particular attention is given to the initial weaknesses in the management of the health system in Italy (the country most severely affected by the devastating effects of the pandemic, both in terms of public health and the economy).

The article examines strategic approaches to addressing the pandemic in Georgia; it argues that, despite all the measures taken, the measures taken by the Georgian government have been insufficient, leading to a serious crisis in the health system, as evidenced by the situation in the country caused by the coronavirus pandemic in late 2020. Following an in-depth analysis of the situation in Italy, the main approaches to address the damage caused by the new coronavirus pandemic in Georgia and elsewhere have been identified. It also expressed the view that close coordinated collaboration between government, the private sector and society is needed.
